   Prof. Suhana Mohd Said

   Universiti Malaya, Malaysia

Research Area: Liquid Crystal Technology, Thermoelectric materials and devices, Lead free solder systems,

Density Functional Theory modeling of electronic materials

My research is centred around the interrelated fields of 1) Liquid Crystal Technology, 2) Thermoelectric Materials and Devices, Electronics Packaging and 4) Quantum Chemistry modelling of electronic materials. My research is interdisciplinary in nature, spanning over electrical engineering, applied physics, chemistry and materials science. I have published over 120 ISI-Indexed journal publications, and have acted as Keynote/Plenary speker in several international publications. I was the founding President of the Malaysian Thermoelectric Society, and a national member of the Tin Solder Technology Association. To date, I have managed over RM5 million in research funds as Principal Investigator, and am actively engaging leading international collaborators in my research fields. I am also keen on encouraging the next generation to enter Science and Technology fields, through STEM outreach activities to schoolchildren, by disseminating information related to my research in an accessible manner.
